Taste is often treated like a private instinct. It is closer to a room we inherit: already furnished, already telling us where to sit.
Everyone Hates Art began with a contradiction. We wanted to make something direct without pretending that directness is neutral. A shirt can be a surface, a sign, an edition, or simply the thing you wear while you are making something else.
The name is not a complaint. It is permission. You can dislike the approved thing. You can care about an object without explaining it. You can put a sentence on a shirt and let the sentence become less certain every time someone reads it.
This is the first note and the first object. Neither is intended to settle anything.
